As a musician and/or singer, whether you’re performing live, rehearsing with a band or recording in a studio, you need to hear both yourself and the other musicians. But just as importantly, you need to have control over what you hear.
Everyone hears differently from their own perspective, so everyone needs to have control over their own mix.
Ideally, you’d have a monitor engineer—but in most situations it’s likely that you or another band member are controlling the monitor mix from the stage. Or a sound technician at the other end of the room has the control; but it’s
hard to communicate with them during a show. Instead of having a fixed monitor mix from the board, PX allows you to set up a simple three-channel monitor mix that allows you to adjust the levels that matter to you the most—on the fly.
For example, one knob could control your vocal level, one could control your instrument level, and another could be a submix of other vocals and instruments.
With the PX system, control of that balance is always within reach, and always adjusted perfectly to your liking!
3-CHANNEL PERSONAL MIXER
PX gives musicians and singers control of their own monitor mix on the fly, without relying on engineers or other band members. Choose three instruments or microphones, or three submixes of any channels, or a combination. Then adjust the levels as necessary as you perform!
HEADPHONE AMP
In addition to being a three-channel mixer, PX is also a headphone preamp that allows you to control the overall volume of your in-ear monitors. This helps you manage the volume level, ensuring that you hear what you need to hear for optimum performance, while also giving you the ability to lower the volume if and when the levels are too high for comfort.
EASY ON-STAGE CAT 5 CABLE SETUP
One Cat 5 cable can transmit three analog audio signals over more than 200 feet without any loss of sound quality! Setting up the system is simple and quick, and PX is also super cost-effective.
3.5 MM STEREO EARPHONE JACK
PX delivers impressive headroom, making sure youalways have the volume you need—with your favorite in-ear monitors, earphones or headphones plugged into the top-mounted, standard 3.5 mm (1/8") stereo output jack.
LOCKING CAT 5 CABLE INPUT
The Cat 5 cable input connector features a locking mechanism to prevent accidental cable disconnects. Just press the tab next to the bottom-mounted connector to release the cable at the end of the gig.
POWER
Connecting a 9V / 2A center-negative power supply (not included) can send continuous power to PX through the included 25-foot Xvive EC25 Cat 5 cable, or any Cat 5 cable up to 200 feet long. Alternately, PX can be powered by two AAA
batteries for up to 5 hours.
AUDIO INPUT
The XLR input plugs can accept balanced line signals taken directly from your mixer’s aux outputs or main output. For 1/4" aux outputs, use the included XLR-balanced-to-1/4"-unbalanced adapters. This also works with headphone outputs, drum machines, audio interfaces, or any other audio device with a 1⁄4" output.
STEREO SETUP FOR OUTPUT
Using DIP switches inside the PX, each of the three channels can be independently sent to the left or right side of your in-ears/earphones/headphones, or both sides. This can help separate the different sound sources and make them easier to hear.
VOLUME
PX has a master volume control and three channel volume controls. The master volume also serves as an on/off switch, powering off the unit when turned fully counterclockwise. The volume knobs have highly visible pointers on them that make the position of the knob easy to see under low-light conditions.
HANDY BELT CLIP
A sturdy belt clip secures PX to your side, keeping it easily accessible for you to change levels at any time, whether you’re standing, sitting, or moving around a stage. Thanks also to the locked Cat 5 cable, you will feel a tug on the cable if you stray too far but the PX and cable will always stay connected!
STELLAR SOUND
Due to the unit’s high-quality preamp and internal circuitry, and the impeccable signal transmission through the Cat 5 cable, the sound quality sent to your in-ears, earphones or headphones will be pristine.
EXPAND FOR A BAND
If you want to use the PX system with up to five people simultaneously, and you’re able to work with the same three signals from the soundboard or other audio source/s, you can upgrade your system with a PX-H 5-channel hub, and up to four additional PX-A mixer/preamps and EC25 Cat 5 cables. All connected PX units are powered by one 9V/2A power supply connected to a PX-B that feeds audio and power to the hub!
